This Week in North American Diplomacy -- Week of April 11

Slow news week.

Hearing Double: Episode 15 Redefines Stereo

Nathan Barnes and Eric Mead secured a couple of guest hosts for the latest edition of their DiplomacyCast podcast, and with all due respect to them, the result just might be their best episode yet. If you haven’t listened to episode 15 yet, do so now. You can download the episode at iTunes or online at diplomacycast.com.

Coming Soon to an Email Box Near You

Host Chris Martin mailed the first round of invitations to the 2013 NADF Masters Invitational to 45 players who had qualified for the event through the 2012 TempleCon.

The biennial Masters will be held at the Hilton New Orleans in 2013 on the weekend of January 18. The first round will be Friday night, with rounds 2 and 3 on Saturday and Sunday morning, respectively. Martin secured a room rate of just $89 for the event. He’s planning a group dinner in the French Quarter for Saturday night.

Players qualify for the invitational by finishing in the top seven of a Grand Prix event in 2011 or 2012. Nineteen players competed in the inaugural Masters last year in Austin. Edi Birsan won the event.
