This Week in North American Diplomacy -- Week of Dec. 28
I'm vacationing this week, so this will be brief.
WAC is Back!
WAC is Back!
After two scaled-back events sandwiched around its trip to Europe to host Euro DipCon, North America's premiere tournament appears to be back. Organizers Nathan Barnes and Mark Zoffel released a guest list this week containing 47 names. The four-round event could feature six boards per round, which would make it the largest North American tournament in years. The event will be held January 27 to 29 at the Washington Athletic Club in downtown Seattle. Make your plans to be there. The Facebook event is here: www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=218950688170677.
The Postman always Tops Twice
Todd "The Mailman" Woodman delivered his second board top ever last Wednesday in his 11th game with the Windy City Weasels. Apparently 11 is his magic number, as his Turkey gobbled 11 centers en route to the board top. The game, which was played in a west suburban bar, ended by draw vote in Spring 1906 in the following center counts:
Austria (Mark Weiskircher): 0
England (Shawn McDuffee): 8
France (Kyle Weiskircher): 6
France (Kyle Weiskircher): 6
Germany (Amanda Baumgartner): 1
Italy (Peter Lokken): 8
Russia (Vinaya Sharma): 0
Turkey (Todd Woodman): 11
